Click laminate flooring installation guide

We promise it’s easy. Click laminate flooring is extremely simple to assemble, but we’ve prepared a step-by-step guide on how to install engineered hardwood flooring

  • Step 1: choosing the right click lock laminate flooring

Decide on what type of floating floors you want – weather it is classic laminate or engineered click hardwood flooring. The wood needs to acclimatize before installation, so lay the cartons out for two to three days. Do not open them before the day of installation. The optimal temperature for installing laminate is 20 degrees Celsius, with relative humidity between 50 – 70 %.

  • Step 2: preparations

Before you start your click laminate flooring installation, consult the manufacturer about what type of underlay and/or moisture barrier is needed for your chosen flooring. Roll out the underlayment and place it exactly to the edges of your floors. Secure the seams with tape.

  • Step 3: installing click lock laminate flooring

Be sure to do the click laminate flooring installation before installing baseboards, so that you can easily cover the expansion gap. It's recommended that you install your easy click laminate flooring lengthwise in the direction of the rooms light source. When laying down the boards, insert shims between the board and the wall to ensure about 12-15 mm of expansion gap. Lay down the next board and press until you hear a click sound. Continue to the end of the row. You will probably have to cut the boards at the end of each row, but be sure to cut it with the decorative side facing down. Start placing the second row right below where you finished the first one and do the same thing in the opposite direction.
