Static mixing nozzles for continuous and uniform blending of liquids

Static mixing nozzles are unique tools in many industrial applications, including pharmaceutical, chemical processing, food production, and construction. They were designed to mix different substances, usually sealants and adhesives, efficiently. When it comes to liquid mixing in industrial procedures, achieving an effective and consistent blend is crucial. These types of static mixing nozzles have a considerable role in ensuring product quality, stability and overall process effectiveness.

There are two types of adhesive mixing nozzles - static and dynamic. While both aim to achieve the same goal, there are significant differences in the benefits each provides and how they work. Dynamic mixing nozzles have moving mechanisms (that actively blend the fluid) used in more complex applications where static mixing is insufficient. Static nozzles have fixed internal components that create turbulence and mix the liquids as they flow through them. They are used when continuous and uniform blending is required.

How do static mixing nozzles work?

Adhesive mixing nozzles do not rely on external mechanical energy. They are engineered to use the velocity of the liquids and natural pressure. Using fluid dynamics is highly efficient and ensures low operational costs. The device consists of geometrically designed and fixed elements, including ribs, baffles and mixing nozzle tip. As the sealant or adhesive passes through, the components create turbulence, breaking the flow and forcing the liquid segments to interact. As the substances move through the gadget, the layers twist and cross each other, creating a homogenous blend.

All the components and the elements inside static mixing nozzles were designed to create controlled turbulence based on the application and desired result. The tool comes in different types, shapes and arrangements, each designed to create a uniform blend. There are numerous advantages to using such a solution, the main one being that there are no moving parts. The lack of moving components makes this equipment less prone to mechanical failure, which reduces maintenance costs. They have a compact design and are incredibly effective, guaranteeing the user low maintenance cost.

Mixing nozzle tips are made out of durable and high-performing HDPE

Mixing nozzle tips are indispensable in many industries, providing an energy-efficient, reliable, stable, and cost-effective way to blend various solutions. They are made of high-density polyethene. HDPE (a thermoplastic polymer) is made of petroleum. Due to its incredible properties, it can be heated, formed and moulded into the required shape. Once it is cooled, it hardens. The polymer has a remarkably high melting point and is an excellent nozzle material.

One of the most widely used plastics in the world is known for its resistance to moisture and chemicals, exceptional durability, and high strength-to-density ratio. The material has outstanding resistance to impacts, potentially harmful external factors, acids and corrosion. Static mixing nozzles made of HDPE are affordable, lightweight, safe, have antimicrobial properties, and have a long lifespan. Sustainability is one of the best advantages of using adhesive mixing nozzles from HDP. High-density polyethene is a recyclable material that reduces carbon emissions and reliance on fossil fuels. The products can be reprocessed into new ones without significant loss of quality.

Adhesive mixing nozzles for laminar flows

Static mixing nozzles ensure a mess-free distribution of homogenous blend from a cartridge. Sopi d.o.o.s produces static mixers for laminar flows, which can be used for single-action applications to guarantee a tough, chemical-resistant, and cost-effective fixing. With a weight of 6.3 g, they come in packaging of 900 pieces, 75 pieces and 200 pieces. Quantity per row is 9 pieces, 24 pieces per box and 21.600 pieces per pallet. The pallet height is 212 cm (+/- 4%) and the approximate weight is 160 kg.

The static mixing nozzle tips with hose extension 250 mm (weight of 10,4 g) were designed for laminar flows with hose extension. They are accessories that improve the blending and application of two-component solutions. They are available in packing by 45 pieces, 30 pieces and 220 pieces, which is 3520 pieces per pallet. The latter has a height of 103 cm (+/- 4%) and a weight of 49 kg.

Both items comply with DIN 16742 and have general tolerance DIN 16901-150. They come in standard packaging, which can be tailor-made for a charge. The customer’s instructions must be known before the order confirmation. It is critical that all products must be kept indoors at 18°C to 20°C at least 24 hours before use.

Mixing nozzle tips made of environmentally friendly materials

Static mixing nozzles have a compact design with no moving parts. They are amazingly precise, consistent, versatile, and have low energy consumption. One of the major benefits of using such nozzles are consistent mixing capabilities, longevity and low operational costs. The tools are made of HDPE, making them extremely lightweight yet durable, easily moulded, resistant and sustainable.

Adhesive mixing nozzles are made in the Nozzle Design lab, which is equipped with apparatuses that transform a rough sketch into a final design and manufacture it. Custom-made dispensing solutions are sustainable. Sopi d.o.o. actively uses environmentally friendly materials, embraces sustainable practices and strives to minimise environmental impact.
